Fixing up the Grump Room.

I made this 3D model of the Game Grumps' room back in 2014 when I was going to college in Japan. I didn't know anything about game development but I liked the Game Grumps and I thought it would be awesome if they played a game I made. That was something of a pipe dream, but it got me started working on a small game using the programming knowledge I was developing in school.
A lot has happened since then. I went back to the US for 2 years and got a regular job, but it really wasn't for me. I ended up back in Japan, and got a job in the games industry. The little game I made in college was a big part of me getting the job.  My skills have improved greatly in the last 4 years, Unity has also become a really amazing engine compared to what I was working with in 2014.
I uncovered this model and decided to update it a bit. I'm finally getting a hang for how the Unity baked lighting system works.

Before I found this model I was getting a bit disillusioned about working in the games industry. I was wondering why I was working so hard on something that was starting to seem kind of silly. I hadn't been watching the Grumps for quite a while until a 10 minute power hour came up in my recommendations. I watched it on a whim and all the memories came flooding back. I remembered how the Grumps' positivity and the positivity of the community made me feel like games were something I wanted to be a part of. I remembered how games can bring people together and aren't just a way to waste time.

I'm feeling inspired again and I'm watching Game Grumps when I have free time.  Thanks everyone for being so wonderful!
